[...] Apparently I wasn’t the only one pissed off by Forbes Magazine. After initially deciding to pull the article Forbes has decided to counter Noer’s article with an additional article from Elizabeth Corcoran about men. Do they really think that will fix the problem? Michael Noer and the editors at Forbes Mageazine should have had the common sense to realize the content and poor research would cause a “heated response” from the public. After reading Corcoran’s article my negative opinion regarding Forbes Magazine has not changed. [...]

You asked how can a family survive on one income. It actually is very easy if you don't get caught up in consumerism, and buying all the crap that a person does not need. How much is your cell bill each month, your cable bill, your stupid starbucks coffee? Why do people drive a BMW when they can get a better car for half the price? The amount of money people waste these days is what is causing debt, not high prices.

Forgot to mention, the discussion is pretty good.

One person pointed out what a hash the author made of the research that he used to illustrate his central issue.

Take another look at the link. Forbes printed a side-by-side rebuttal by Elizabeth Corcoran from the Forbes "Silicon Valley bureau and principal author of the magazine's current cover story on robots." Her title is "Counterpoint" Don't Marry a Lazy Man."

Walt, I did think about the issue of linking to the article and whether that would actually give it more air time. However, one really has to read the article to see how offensive it really is. When I first read about it over at Solvitur Ambulando, I wondered how bad the article could really be - and boy was I amazed. Although, I generally don't read Forbes either - it has lost any credibility it might have once had. I'm glad I could introduce Solvitur Ambulando to you - I really enjoy it.

Just so you know: I linked to your post (in my comment on this shameful article) because I was unwilling to link to Maxim--er, that is, Forbes.

And thanks for pointing out Solvitur Ambulando, which I've now subscribed to.
