The Joy of Snow Days

While many of the joys of childhood don’t translate well into adulthood, I am fortunate enough to still have the joy of the snow day. It is rather cool to be able to call work early in the morning, find out if the college is closed, and return to bed if possible. Today, I got to go back to bed, because the college was closed for the day. Of course, this also means that we did indeed get snow. On the positive side, the snowfall was fairly manageable. We didn’t lose power, and I was able to watch Masterpiece’s new version of Persuasion a couple of times (Persuasion just might be my favorite Jane Austen work). The best part, I was able to do this wearing my comfy pajamas, wrapped in toasty blankets while ensconced on my couch. What a wonderful day!

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you! If you hadn’t mentioned it here, I wouldn’t have known about the new Jane Austen movies. I love to see them done well, and the preview clip on Masterpiece Theater’s website looks very promising.

You are welcome!! Persuasion was excellent – and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series which includes the Colin Firth verison of Pride and Prejudice. A colleague mentioned the series to me last week – and I’m glad that I could pass word along!
